Sixth Graders Participate in an Anti-Stereotype Campaign
Posted on 03/06/2019

6th graders at RAUC ended Unit 2: Early humans with our sound off on Stereotypes campaign. Students first listened to Alex Dang's What kind of Asian are you? as a model before they wrote their scripts.

The criteria for the anti-stereotype audio products needed the following:

  • 10 power words from our “How real is Race?” packet
  • An explanation of the impact of stereotypes on people’s lives.
  • Audio product must be less than 2 minutes long.

The product medium was chosen by students, so you'll listen to some poems, essays, commercials, podcasts. We used Soundtrap to capture and edit their sounds.
