This month, RAUC 8th grade students will begin working on the capstone unit for their Civics class- the student-led civics group project.
- For this project, students will take informed, authentic action toward a sustained change they want to see in their community.
- Students will be required and encouraged to reach out and be in contact with decision-makers who impact their communities.
- These include school administrators, elected officials, and others with high civic capital.
- Students will present their projects at the State House on May 23.
- Last year, one of our student groups was selected to present their project “Juvenile Justice Education: Protecting the Path for Youth” at the National Civics Showcase (photo on right)!
