Sixth Graders Produce an Anti-Stereotype Campaign

Our 6th-grade social studies scholars finished their Early Humans unit with an investigation on the biological basis of race and its social impacts. Students explored the social implications of stereotypes and created audio productions for the anti-stereotype campaign. Their audio products needed to have the following:

  • 3-4 vocabulary words from our “How real is Race?” packet.
  • An explanation of the impact of stereotypes on people’s lives. 
  • Audio product must be less than two minutes long.

The product medium was chosen by students, so were some poems, essays, commercials, podcasts. They used Soundtrap and WeVideo to capture and edit their sounds.
