8th Grade Civics Teacher selected for 2026 National Civic Forum Fellowship

8th Grade Civics Teacher selected for 2026 National Civic Forum Fellowship

Please join us in congratulating 8th grade Civics Teacher Tom Trainor, who has been selected for a 2026 National Civic Forum Fellowship

This fellowship supports a cohort of outstanding educators and civic-learning practitioners from across the country. Fellows participated in the 2026 Civic Learning Week National Forum, where they deepened their understanding of the Roadmap to Educating for American Democracy and explored how its principles can be applied within their local communities. Upon returning home, Fellows will use the insights gained at the Forum to strengthen civic education for students and community members.

Fellows had the opportunity to:

  • Participate in the 2026 Civic Learning Week National Forum, March 9–10, 2026, in Philadelphia, PA;
  • Be recognized at the Forum as leaders in civic education;
  • Contribute to national civic-education efforts by helping DKP connect with local civil society organizations;
  • Apply their learning about the Roadmap to Educating for American Democracy to enhance civic education efforts in their communities
