Equity Update: Spring Parent/caregiver Teacher Conferences Update

At RAUC, we believe that students’ families are vital partners in education. For this reason, one of our equity goals this year has been to see family engagement improve across all demographic groups. One way we measure this is by tracking data from events such as our parent/caregiver teacher conferences.
In February, our school council (our equity team) discussed ways to try to improve attendance for all families in the spring. Our staff educator leadership team then used this feedback to plan some action steps. At last week's school council meeting, we reviewed the spring parent/caregiver teacher conference data. In nearly every demographic category, more families attended the spring conferences than in the fall! In several categories, there was over a 15% increase!
Thank you to all who participated! While we know that there is always room for improvement, we're excited that we seem to be moving in the right direction.
