Just for fun: 6th Grade Geometry projects

Our 6th grade mathematicians just completed their first big project of the year! Students applied their geometry knowledge to create their own 3-dimensional city map. They began by brainstorming a map of their city that met a criteria for success, calculated the surface area of the buildings, and then used their design skills to build the map of their city. Their cities needed to have parallel and perpendicular streets, and at least one rectangular prism, pyramid, and cube-shaped building. Check out some of their amazing creations!
